My personal Teddy

Published by under Teddy bears

For Christmas Alex bought me a teddy bear wearing a cute backpack which contained a jewelry box that held the necklace that matches the ring he gave me last Christmas. This teddy bear is so adorable, comes with a scarf that says YOU ARE LOVED. The jewelry store that sold this told me the bears practically flew out of the store. So many people thought this was a nice way to present a gift. I totally agree. So now he sits on the bed every day, a wonderful reminder that Alex loves me and wanted to make me happy for Christmas.

And good news…the trigger finger has been fixed and I can once again begin working on bears. I have two to make, maybe 3, for Christmas this year. Since it’s already March, I should get busy!

Finding the right things to make a bear

Published by under Teddy bears

I managed to find some wonderful furry like material at my local Wal-Mart store. I bought a yard which should be enough for 2 or 3 bears since it’s 60 inches wide. I have everything I need to create more bears except the joints I need. Why are they so hard to find? Local craft stores do not seem to stock them. I can find all sorts of things for other projects, but not joints. I did find a place to order these joints, but it will have to be mail order since the store isn’t local to me. If someone reading this knows of a good place to purchase necessary things to create bears, please let me know! As for now I will be starting bears for Christmas presents for 2009. I just need to get busy…after I get the joints!

Valentine Teddy Bears

Published by under Teddy bears

Since Valentine’s Day is just a week away, I thought I would refer to the bears I have seen lately at stores around our area. Teddy bears dressed up or not, these will be gifts for the children and mainly women for the holiday. Cute little bears dressed as Cupid, bears in red or pink, bears with huge bows around their necks, all ready for giving.  You do need to keep in mind who the bear is for and if it’s a child that this bear you have chosen will be a safe one. Read the tag on the bear to see what it’s made of and how to care for it. Most bears can be cleaned easily if they must be.

Choose the bear wisely. Remember this bear will have meaning to the person who will receive it. They will know you put some thought into picking this particular bear for them and love the bear and you for it.
